Rules

The WarnerCraft server is not all about restricting you and making you follow a bunch of stupid, mundane rules. That being said, in the interests of keeping the server fun to play on and a safe environment for people to play and be themselves, we ask that you read the following rules very carefully.

Failure to adhere to them will mean that you may be banned from the server. We’re generally flexible and reasonable, but play your part and play fair and everything will work out just fine.

By playing on the WarnerCraft server, you agree to the below rules and stipulations:

Be courteous to your fellow players …

They are here to enjoy the game and do their own thing. Do not pester them if they do not want to be pestered.

Always listen to an admin or moderator …

They’re there for a reason, and they have authority because they have earned it. If you feel you are being unjustly treated by someone in authority, you should follow these steps [LINK] and the case will be reviewed.

No griefing …

You all know exactly what this is and what it involves. This rule is a given, and there will be zero-tolerance for griefing of any sort, even if “it was just a joke”. You have been warned.

No mods or x-ray texture packs …

Optifine is okay. TooManyItems, map mods, and anything that gives you an advantage over other players is not. This includes x-ray texture packs. We have ways and means of knowing if you’re cheating, so don’t be surprised if you suddenly get banned if you decide to test us.

No exploiting of bugs …

If you find a bug on the server, or something that should be working and isn’t, you are required to report it to an admin or moderator, who can then take the appropriate action. We review the logs often enough, so we’ll probably know if you found something and exploited it, which would of course result in a nice shiny ban. Even if you do report it, you are not to continue making use of the exploit for your (or anyone else’s) benefit.

No advertising or non-related links …

Or any other form of text spamming. Blatant advertising and spam will result in an insta-ban. Players are warned not to trust links posted on the server.

No inappropriate language …

We are not going to kick and ban users for light swearing. However excessive and needless swearing in the channel, or on TeamSpeak, as well as any form of racial or sexual abuse (no matter how “light hearted”) will NOT be tolerated and you will be kicked or banned at the discretion of the admins and/or moderators.

No direct religious references …

This server will hopefully house numerous people of different faiths (or lack thereof) and this means that we will not accept any creations that depict specific religions or faiths, or broadcast religious messages. So no crosses, crescent moons and stars, and so on, built with the intention of being religiously meaningful. This also applies to messages written into the landscape. Religious buildings such as a cathedral or mosque design are perfectly acceptable as long as the building does not specifically contain any outward religious messages or discrimination.

Be conscious of the landscape …

Admins have full discretion over what may or may not be allowed on the landscape and can and will remove creations that they deem unsuitable for the server. These decisions will usually be made collectively and for good reason only. This will generally apply to permanently unfinished structures, mass landscape defacing, 1×1 towers, pointless torchfields, etc. Usually you will be asked to remove it or clean it up within a reasonable time period. However if you are not online for any amount of time, it may be removed for you.

With this in mind, please try to make things look nice. We want to be proud of every part of the server, and not have to hide certain bits because it’s in a shambles.

Respect the sanctity of spawn …

The spawn area is very big. We’ve done this because we want to make a really large spawn area, with expansion potential. We may reserve other spots of land at any time, which should be treated as if they were Spawn too. We ask that you build as far away from Spawn as reasonably possible. In order to do this we’ve set up multiple ways to get out of Spawn City – but it will usually involve you picking a destination and taking the train or ferry to that location. This location – other than the immediate station area, is all yours.

Also, please do not crowd the initial spawn point if you’re meeting other players – move over to one of the meeting points around the area.

No infinite redstone circuits …

It’s all fun and games until the server gets brought to it’s knees. So absolutely no infinite redstone circuits/clocks unless you have explicitly received permission from an Administrator (not a moderator, they do not have the authority to approve this.)

Any player found with redstone in violation will have the creation removed and will be warned. A secondary offence will result in a ban.

Understand that admins (and moderators) have full discretion …

This means that both admins and moderators can apply judgements to any player at any time, depending on the circumstances – if your behaviour is deemed as inappropriate or detrimental to the server as a whole then action will be taken. Usually you will be warned first, and continuing the behaviour will then result in a ban. If you would like to dispute this you can follow the procedure here [LINK] and we will review the case.

You won’t get anywhere by begging for Admin or Mod status …

Mod-begging/Admin-begging will not earn you a ban – but it will get noted and you will automatically not even be considered for such a role in the future. We promote people based on whether we trust them and how long they’ve played on our server, as well as whether or not they’re the kind of person that would work well as an authority figure and be good with the other members. As such, no matter how many times you ask to be made admin or a mod, or how much previous server experience you have and how much you’ve boasted about it, or even how creatively you ask for promotion, you’re going to end up disappointed and blacklisted from ever getting that chance. So watch your actions.

You automatically agree to any future rules ….

By playing on the server, in addition to the rules above, you also automatically agree to any future rules added to this page, as well as any adjustments to prior rules. The responsibility to check the rules frequently is yours.
